A most important part of any business is getting paid and certainly the most frustrating part is waiting for those checks you have been promised to make their way to you past that magnet in the post office which detains checks for at least a week , while allowing the other mail just to slip through. By now you have learned to keep notes on those who have made you promises and to follow them up. Then, if they have “forgotten” there is that follow up phone call which is embarrassing to both the collector an patient. With EPCheckNow!
- Get promise from patient to “send you a check tomorrow” (or Monday, or payday).
- Be Exceptional! Say “Mrs. Jones, I can save you the trouble and the stamp. Why don’t I just take your information and process your check electronically”
- Take down the Bank ABA and routing number, the account number and the check number. Have her void the check.
- Print the check on your own laser or desk jet printer.
- Deposit the check.
Some of our orthodontic offices have stopped sending statements and virtually erased their collection activity. They offer three forms of payment:
- Discount 5%-10% for cash up front.
- OFP (Costs 7.5% + 10% interest to the patient)
- Automatic Credit Card Debit (Costs about 3% and takes some work).
- EPCheckNow!- Pre Authorized Drafts.
- Obtain their authorization as part of their financial agreement, and get a sample check..
- Enter the check information into EPCheckNow!
- Enter the Dollar amount and number of checks to print and the date each month you want them printed (periods other than monthly are available).
- Periodically just go to the Computer and print the checks.
- Deposit the checks.

You may download the software below whether you have paid for it or not and may play with it for up to ten days before receiving your password. When you first go into the software, it will require that you register it before you use it. When you register it, the information will come to me by email or fax. When you have paid for it I will send you your check paper by priority mail and a password by email, which will make it work for you permanently. The software will work only on one computer.
